Forensic Psychiatry Services

In addition to my clinical practice, I provide specialized forensic psychiatric services for attorneys, courts, and related agencies. I completed fellowship training at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital, one of the oldest and most established forensic psychiatry programs in the country. I have years of experience performing evaluations across multiple states in both civil and criminal matters. My training emphasized the evaluation of violent crime, and I bring that expertise to each case.

I understand the importance of collaboration in legal work. I excel at maintaining open, timely communication with the attorney who hires me, while ensuring my opinions remain objective and based firmly on the facts. Because not every evaluation produces the outcome a retaining party may hope for, I offer an initial consultation and impression before committing to a full evaluation, written report, and potential testimony. This allows attorneys to make informed decisions early in the process.

Common Evaluations and Reports Include:

  • Competency to stand trial evaluations

  • Criminal responsibility / sanity at the time of the offense assessments

  • Risk assessment for violence, future dangerousness, or need for supervision

  • Mitigation evaluations in sentencing contexts

  • Psychiatric damages assessments in civil litigation

  • Independent medical examinations (IMEs)

  • Expert witness testimony in both criminal and civil matters

My approach is thorough, evidence-based, and tailored to the needs of each case, with a focus on clear reasoning and accessible communication for courts, juries, and attorneys alike.
